Snake Bites

There are two main types of snake bites. Remember to treat all bites as emergencies if you aren't sure!

Treatment

1. Call 000 and ask for an ambulance.
2. Apply a large pressure bandage over the bite area as soon as possible. If you don't have any, use any cloth you have - but make sure it's firm and tight!
3. Keep applying layers around the bite and extending from the bite area. Cover as much of the area as possible. We want to make sure the person doesnt move and cause the venom to spread.
4. Using a stick, or a special medical stick called a splint, to keep the limb straight.
5. Wait for the ambulance to arrive.
